A waterfront Victorian inn on Shinnecock Bay in East Quogue

Situated on high ground overlooking Shinnecock Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, the Caffrey House offers a spectacular panoramic view, unsurpassed on Long Island. We are conveniently located in the famous Hamptons resort area, between Southampton and Westhampton.  A barrier beach one mile to the south separates the ocean from the bay, and allows the house to be swept by cool sea breezes all summer. Even in July and August the evenings are comfortable. Those who appreciate fine architectural details, will recognize the high standards and good taste of the nineteenth century craftsmen who built the hotel. Varnished elaborate woodwork and hardwood floors are featured throughout the building. All rooms are corner locations, providing windows on two sides for excellent ventilation and splendid views. Furnishings are antiques typical of turn of the century homes. It is the only surviving waterfront Victorian inn on eastern Long Island, the others have been destroyed or remodeled beyond recognition.  The inn has been kept much the same as it was in the past, a casual comfortable country lodging.

A private sandy beach and dock are located directly in front of the house, guests are welcome to arrive by boat.  The Intercoastal Waterway goes through the bay and connects to most of the navigable waterways of the eastern United States. The parlor displays an extraordinary collection of working antique jukeboxes, radios and audio equipment, some of it is for sale.  Weekly and seasonal rates are very reasonable.
See rate page.
